Circle of Control – how to stop stressing about everything!

When there is so much going on around us that is negative; the election lies and confrontations, the amazon burning, climate change, homelessness and more – it can be hard to stay optimistic and cheerful. All this stuff can bring us down if we allow it to. For me, the trick is to do a reality check on what I can control, what I can influence and what is out of my control and then concentrate on changing what is within my control, influencing what I can and letting go of the rest. If you’re suffering from what I think of as ‘world overwhelm’ then write down the things that are worrying you, that you stress about and lose sleep about; then fit them into the bulls-eye diagram here and see if they’re within your control, influence or whether you need to get that annoying song from ‘Frozen’ on a loop in your head. It helps me get things into perspective – let me know if it helps you.
